Mega Catch Up

About 4 weeks ago I went to a home ed event and we learnt to make giant dream catchers.
It was quite hard and fiddly but I am pleased with the one I made. It hangs over my head in my bedroom and has only fell on me twice. I dont have nightmares so I dont know if it works.

This week we went to a National Forest to learn about birds and trees. The other kids were really noise so most of the birds were sensible and hid. The man tried to teach us about trees...it was boring.

We escaped and went and had a look around. This is the view from the lake.

It was freezing and very windy.

We all found a friend to play with and we all took turns threw sticks in the water for him to catch. Here is the main attraction.

On our way home we took some pictures of a state we often drive past. I forgot to take one of the men (my camera was on the wrong setting).but here is the writing and the details.

It is basically to help people to remember the Irish men who died in 1916.

Today we learnt that in Japan it is 'Girl's Day'

We made some origami dolls and some orimgami Whales. (the dolls were a bit girly but fun when they were finished.

A Viking Adventure

This photo shows the sunrise yesterday. I nearly fell out of the upstairs window taking it because it was too cold to go out.

We have been working on Vikings. Everything based on school work on the vikings was absolutely boring, so mum made it fun by changing it from work to art.

I made my name in runes on a runestone. Then I made my own shield with Thor's hammer and Odins eye and a viking snake. Then I made a Viking long boat. Here they are.

The three red shapes are symbolic for blades and were considered lucky omens by the vikings.

We go out for walks every day because we live in the countryside and all the animals know us and come and say hello. See who came to see us yesterday. Luckily our new dog is very good with the animals but both dogs stay on their leads just in case.

I took all of the photos. The next one is a white stallion. He is very freindly sometimes but yesterday we had rain, sleet, snow, sunny bits and I think he was just fed up with getting cold and wet and then warm and then freezing again.

I took 102 photos yesterday but mum helps me put them on and she has had enough. ;-)

Hope you like them.

Happy New Year and a big thank you.

I took this picture this morning. Mums photos is not so good. She doesnt know if it is because I am a better phtographer or I have a better camera. I said it is because of both.

I had a nice christmas. Here is a picture of one of my presents. It looks real in the photo. It is a Transam, Knight rider remote control car.

I also got this. it is made from recycled metal and is a model of the Mallard Steam Train.

My dad really did get a real car. He got a classic Mini 1000. He got this because it is cheap to import, cheap to run, cheap to tax and he is a big kid when it comes to classic cars.

I have not had much time to craft as mum has been ill, but I am going to start a tapestry nurse card for my gran, an emu picture and a mini car. I also have lots of model planes to make from the Duxford collection. I want to start with the Spitfire mark 1A first.

I would like to thank my mum's friend Theresa in Australia. She sent my mum stuff and she also sent me and my brother some things.
She sent me three pages of Australian charts, three books, lots fof really cool stamps and a koala keyring.

I really really like them all, thank you very much Theresa.

I will finish this post with some pictures of my dogs. While my dad was away, mum trained them both, and now they sleep together outside at night in their kennel and run and because they are good now, the puppy crate has been put away and both dogs just share a bed in the kitchen next to the range in the day.
